Question:

106 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources further to Parliamentary Question No. 306 of 17 June 2003, the progress to date on the matter. [31792/03]

Further to the Deputy's Parliamentary Question No. 306 of 17 June 2003, I am pleased to advise that my Department has recently allocated funds totalling €95,000 to the Shannon Regional Fisheries Board towards work to be completed on these two projects in 2003.

A total of €55,000 has been provided towards rehabilitation work on the Hind River, County Roscommon. A sum of €40,000 has been provided for the construction of a concrete slipway at Ballyforan Pier, County Roscommon. Any further funding for these projects will be a matter for the Shannon Regional Fisheries Board and others to decide within budgetary allocations in future years.
