Vol. 590 No. 3

Request to Move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.

Before coming to the Order of Business I propose to deal with a number of notices under Standing Order 31. I will call on Deputies in the order in which they submitted their notices to my office.

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the proposed change, from two years to three years, in the minimum length of time a new car must be retained by a disabled person before moving on, and the effect this will have on the quality of life of disabled people.

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the need to cancel a conference which is to be held in Dublin next week for the purposes of selling so-called "less lethal weapons" used worldwide for torture and repression.

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, to address the life-threatening postponement of heart surgery for children in Irish hospitals and to hear from Government what is to be done to ensure adequate staff and resources are in place to provide this urgent treatment for children affected.

Having considered the matters raised, they are not in order under Standing Order 31.
