Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Michael Moynihan — to discuss the delays in the construction of the extension to Kanturk Hospital; (2) Deputy Enright — to ask the Minister for Transport, following the publication of Transport 21, to outline in greater detail his transport policy for the Tullamore area; (3) Deputy Costello — the action the Minister proposes in response to the request by the Czech Republic for the arrest and extradition of two of its nationals; (4) Deputy Connolly — to discuss the allocation of extra grant aid funding for the provision of additional child care places at Latton Community Resource Centre, Monaghan; (5) Deputy Boyle — to ask the Minister to comment upon reports that the European Union is critically examining a €50 million State contribution to the Centocor development at Ringaskiddy, County Cork, as possible illegal State aid, and the implications if the European Commission reaches a negative decision in this regard both for this project and for industrial developments in general in this country; (6) Deputy Michael Higgins — the deprivation of entertainment and media workers of the right to be represented by a trade union; (7) Deputy Cowley — to ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children if she can explain why a young woman with acute abdominal pain, who was sent to Mayo General Hospital by her general practitioner, is now spending her fourth day on a trolley in the accident and emergency unit, where there are another 11 persons on trolleys today, and if she can intervene to ensure that necessary resources are provided to rectify this problem; (8) Deputy Finian McGrath — the Hynes report dealing with the Peter McKenna case; (9) Deputy Ferris — to discuss the ongoing crisis in Kerry General Hospital due to a lack of resources and staff; and (10) Deputy Finneran — that the Minister respond positively to the request by Muintir na Tíre that his Department make a subvention towards the cost of installing socially monitored alarms for the elderly.

The matters raised by Deputies Michael Moynihan, Ferris, Michael Higgins and Enright have been selected for discussion.
