Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the member in each case: (1) Deputy Naughten — that the Minister suspend all parts of the European Communities (Good Agricultural Practice for Protection of Waters) Regulations 2005; (2) Deputy Penrose — the need for the Minister to accept that SI 788 of 2005 implementing the nitrates directive requires considerable amendment; (3) Deputy Deenihan — the Minister's plans in light of the closure of the Glen Dimplex factory in Tralee, County Kerry, resulting in the loss of 70 jobs; (4) Deputy Catherine Murphy — the need to ensure that the waste-water requirements of the Upper and Lower Liffey catchments are fully met; (5) Deputy Gogarty — if the Minister will appoint a commissioner to carry out and have full responsibility for the functions of Fingal County Council; (6) Deputy Crowe — the reason vital funding was blocked for a multi-use stadium for Tallaght against the overwhelming support of local public representatives; (7) Deputy Broughan — the need for a new ministerial or other inquiry into the findings of the Stardust tribunal report of June 1982 in the light of new information; (8) Deputy McGinley — the urgent need to increase Garda numbers in the Lifford area due to the alarming increase in crime; (9) Deputies Paul McGrath and Ring — the issue of performance awards paid to senior managers in local authorities and the need for information on the assessment process for those awards; (10) Deputy Connolly — to discuss the closure and sale of psychiatric hospitals, in particular St. Davnet's Hospital, Monaghan, under the programme A Vision for Change; (11) Deputy Michael Moynihan — the announcement of the closure of Keatings-Irish Pride bakery in Kanturk with the loss of some 95 jobs; (12) Deputy O'Sullivan — the need for the Minister to restore home tuition grants to children with autism who are attending school; (13) Deputy Cowley — to ask the Minister the reasons for the continuing delay in establishing an ambulance base in Mulranny-Achill-Ballycroy area of Mayo; (14) Deputy O'Connor — to ask the Minister the action he is taking to ensure the completion of the Shamrock Rovers stadium at Tallaght; (15) Deputy Cregan — the appointment of a third geriatrician to the Health Service Executive in the mid-western region; and (16) Deputy Lynch — to ask the Minister the reason grant aid funding has been withdrawn from Feis Maitiú, Cork.

The matters raised by Deputies Connolly, Michael Moynihan, Broughan and McGinley have been selected for discussion.
