Before coming to the Order of Business I propose to deal with a number of notices under Standing Order 31.
Request to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to address a matter of major national and local importance, namely, why the people of the Achill, Mulraney and Ballycroy areas must wait an unacceptably long time for emergency ambulance services due to the failure of the Government to follow basic standards of having an ambulance based within 20 miles of any population.
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss the following matter of urgent public concern, namely, the necessity for the Minister for Finance to make a statement explaining how and why the Government allowed €3 billion in tax revenue to be lost to the State as a result of property based tax reliefs while in excess of 43,000 households continue to languish on social housing waiting lists and, in light of the confirmation of the Indecon review, that these reliefs led to increases in site prices and property prices, the necessity to explain why the Government chose to ignore the detrimental consequences of these reliefs for those trying to secure housing.
I request the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss a matter of national importance requiring urgent attention, namely, the need to remove the funding cap on rape crisis centres and women's refuges in place since 2002 and to properly fund these agencies, particularly in light of the significant increase in workload, and to ask the Minister to make a statement on the matter.
Having considered the matters raised, they are not in order under Standing Order 31.
