Before coming to the Order of Business I propose to deal with a number of notices under Standing Order 31.

I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the need to avoid the unnecessary removal from the voting register of thousands of qualified voters by introducing a comprehensive and accurate voters register in all constituencies where all voters are registered on the basis of their personal PPS number.
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the use of banned chemicals and the violation of labour standards by a company, which I will not name but which was discussed on "Today with Pat Kenny"; the failure of the Department of Agriculture and Food to regulate the use of these chemicals and prevent them from entering the food chain; and the failure of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment to uphold labour standards and protect employees of the business.
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the critical need for the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources to respond positively to the recent proposal to establish a commission of inquiry to resolve the refinery impasse at Bellanaboy and all other related matters in view of the urgent necessity of commencing a dialogue between the people of Erris and north Mayo and Shell and its partners; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, today's report of the independent international panel which was hosted by Justice for the Forgotten with the Pat Finucane Centre which examined 25 cases on both sides of the Border where collusion between loyalist paramilitaries and State agents was alleged, and the urgent need for the Irish and British Governments to hold a special summit on this urgent matter.
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the great potential in terms of hydrocarbon resources that the north Atlantic has to offer and that these waters are underexplored, with only nine exploration wells drilled in the past ten years and only two major finds; and the recent oil industry assessments of yet-to-find resource potential indicating in excess of 10 billion barrels of oil, which is worth €500 billion to €600 billion, which can be effectively and efficiently explored using modern technology and evaluation methods, which is in contradiction to Government pessimism of hydrocarbon resources potential off our coast.
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to raise a matter of national importance, namely, the recommendations of the Labour Court on the redundancy agreement for the workers of Irish Sugar in Carlow and Mallow and the company's continued failure to fulfil its obligations as set down by the court in breach of the European Union Council regulation covering the sugar industry restructuring aid.
Having considered the matters raised, they are not in order under Standing Order 31.
