Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Pat Rabbitte — the provision of speech therapy for a child age 16 years, details supplied, who cannot access speech therapy services at St. John of God's, Islandbridge where she attends and who is not allowed access community speech therapy services because she attends special needs education; (2) Deputy Margaret Conlon — the removal of the ventilated bed at Monaghan General Hospital; (3) Deputy Leo Varadkar — noting that Castleknock Community College, St. Brigid's national school in Castleknock and St. Mochta's in Clonsilla, all Dublin 15, have agreed to accept more students at the request of the Department, to ask the Minister for Education and Science to explain why the necessary building projects needed to facilitate the expansion of these schools have been delayed by her Department; (4) Deputy Joe Costello — to explain why no progress has been made on the provision of the National Children's Hospital; (5) Deputy James Bannon — to provide adequate funding for regional theatre touring initiatives such as the NASC touring network and the Nomad Theatre Network, which address the deficit of professional theatre available to audiences in areas outside Dublin; (6) Deputy Bernard Durkan — the need for the immediate review of the case wherein a person in County Kildare has been refused refugee status, details supplied; (7) Deputy Martin Ferris — the need for a dedicated cystic fibrosis unit at Cork University Hospital; (8) Deputy Mattie McGrath — the granting of planning permission for wind turbines in Dualla, Cashel, County Tipperary; (9) Deputy Pádraic McCormack — the proposed off wintering-destocking regime to be applied in Connemara and the effect this will have on the traditional sheep farming practices in this area; (10) Deputies Seymour Crawford and Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin — the need for the Health Service Executive to pay the additional subvention necessary to cover the nursing home cost of a person in County Cavan; (11) Deputy Dan Neville — the lack of funding for the introduction of the recommendations of the Reach Out report; (12) Deputy Fergus O'Dowd — the need to discuss the serious cancer concerns which have arisen for some patients in the north east; and (13) Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin — to clarify the position regarding the proposed "Fair Deal" scheme for subsidisation of nursing home care for older people given the concern and distress caused to older people and their families by the current uncertainty over this scheme and the need to take on board the serious issues with the proposed scheme raised by nine organisations working with older people.

The matters raised by Deputies Crawford and Ó Caoláin, McCormack, Neville and O'Dowd have been selected for discussion.
