Vol. 660 No. 1

Criminal Law (Home Defence) Bill 2008: First Stage.

I move:

That leave be granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to establish a presumption that force used against an intruder is reasonable, to relieve householders of any civil liability to an intruder, to amend the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997 and to provide for related matters.

Is the Bill opposed?

Question put and agreed to.

Since this is a Private Members' Bill, Second Stage must, under Standing Orders, be taken in Private Members' time.

I move: "That the Bill be taken in Private Members' time."

Question put and agreed to.
