Financial Emergency Measures in the Public Interest Bill 2009: Financial Resolution.

I move:

THAT provision be made—

(a) for the deduction, from the remuneration of certain public servants who are members of certain occupational pension schemes or entitled to benefit under such a scheme or receive a payment in lieu of membership in such a scheme, at various rates in respect of certain amounts of such remuneration,

(b) for the making of regulations for the calculation, making, collection, disposal and recovery of such deductions,

(c) for the payment into or disposal for the benefit of the Exchequer in accordance with directions from the Minister for Finance, or otherwise paid or disposed of as that Minister may direct, of such deductions,

(d) for no additional benefit to be conferred on public servants paying such deduction in respect of the occupational pension schemes or pension arrangements concerned, and

(e) for an annual review by the Minister for Finance and report by that Minister to the Houses of the Oireachtas in respect of such review,

in the manner and to the extent specified in the Act giving effect to this Resolution.
