Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputies James Reilly and Jan O'Sullivan — the possible withdrawal by pharmacists from drugs payment schemes; (2) Deputy Joe Costello — the need for the Minister for Health and Children to resolve the bed crisis in the Mater Hospital and St. James's Hospital; (3) Deputy Seán Sherlock — the plans in place under the rural transport programme to provide transport services to those in rural areas who do not have adequate public transport services; (4) Deputy James Bannon — the need for the Minister for Education and Science to consider the establishment of an educational campus for the benefit of the Longford region in the recently closed Connolly Barracks, Longford; (5) Deputy Seán Fleming — the loss of 120 jobs at Meadow Meats, Rathdowney, County Laois; (6) Deputy John O'Mahony — the need for the Minister to allocate funding under the 2009 core airport management operational expenditure subvention scheme to Ireland West Airport Knock; (7) Deputy Joe McHugh — the need to reconsider teacher staffing levels at Portlean national school, Kilmacrennan, County Donegal; (8) Deputy Brian O'Shea — the need to address the jobs situation in Waterford; and (9) Deputy David Stanton — the need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to debate the serious concerns raised by the Ombudsman in her 2008 annual report released on 1 July 2009 regarding the lack of understanding of many public bodies about what is required to comply with provisions of the Disability Act 2005 and their failure to put in place an adequate and accessible complaints system through access officers for people with disabilities.

The matters raised by Deputies Seán Fleming, Brian O'Shea, James Reilly and Jan O'Sullivan and Joe McHugh have been selected for discussion.
