Adjournment Debate Matters

I advise the House of the following eight matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputies Olivia Mitchell and Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin — the impact of the mistake in the accountancy higher level leaving certificate paper as distributed in south Dublin; (2) Deputy Margaret Conlon — the future of day care services at the Darley Health Centre, Cootehill, County Cavan; (3) Deputy Terence Flanagan — the need for the Minister for Education and Skills to provide more funding to schools to support children who are dyslexic; (4) Deputy Ulick Burke — that all retail commercial valuations be reduced by at least 25% nationally by local authorities for the next four to five years to give struggling business a chance to survive the current economic situation and prevent further job losses; (5) Deputy Seán Sherlock — the need to consider rationalising Garda duties to increase the amount of time spent by gardaí on operational matters; (6) Deputy Michael McGrath — the need for the Health Service Executive to address orthopaedic waiting lists in Cork; (7) Deputy Deirdre Clune — the need to provide urgent life saving surgery for a child suffering from scoliosis; and (8) Deputy Lucinda Creighton — the difficulties being experienced by carers in accessing funding under the carer's allowance. The matters raised by Deputies Margaret Conlon, Michael McGrath, Deirdre Clune and Olivia Mitchell and Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin have been selected for discussion.
