I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Robert Troy — the need to reverse the decision to withdraw public transport from St. Columba's national school, Cloonagh, Dring, County Longford; (2) Deputy Dominic Hannigan — the need for the Minister for Education and Skills to state whether he is aware that St. Ciaran's community school in Kells has had its application for emergency works on its roof denied, given that the problems with the school roof mean that the school could have to close due to a serious health and safety issue; (3) Deputy James Bannon — the need to review the by-law which has banned eel fishing here; (4) Deputy Brian Stanley — the reconfiguration of services in the three midlands hospitals in Tullamore, Portlaoise and Mullingar; (5) Deputy Michael Healy-Rae — the cost of school books; (6) Deputy Pat Deering — the renting of premises by the Health Service Executive at Shamrock Square in Carlow; (7) Deputy Joe Costello — the need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to introduce an inspection regime at Shannon Airport to ensure the integrity of Irish airspace is protected; (8) Deputies Frank Feighan, John O'Mahony and Peter Fitzpatrick — the need to initiate measures to stop the illegal importation of diesel and petrol; (9) Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin — the need for the Minister for Finance to act with urgency in accordance with the commitments in the programme for Government and the jobs initiative to prevent the destruction of viable businesses by financial institutions whose refusal to extend credit and unnecessary and punitive actions against viable enterprises are leading to widespread unemployment, further economic decline and intolerable distress for individuals; (10) Deputy Brendan Griffin — the loss of jobs from Tralee, County Kerry; (11) Deputy Tom Barry — the establishment of an agricultural review board within the National Asset Management Agency; and (12) Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn — in light of the announcement by the management of Letterkenny General Hospital that outpatient clinics are to be cancelled and the fact that patients are on trolleys in the hospital's accident and emergency ward, the need for the Minister for Health to intervene immediately to resolve the ongoing debacle of the completion of the crucial extension at the hospital, incorporating a new accident and emergency ward and modern designed wards on the floors above it, and to ensure the subcontractors that are owed money for work on the extension are fully compensated now that the main contractor on the extension project, McNamara Construction, has gone into receivership.
