Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 27A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Ciara Conway - the need to reverse the 58% reduction to the Waterford County Council disability grant; (2) Deputy Paschal Donohoe - the need for the Minister for Education and Skills to respond to the campaign for a new Educate Together secondary school in respect of the Dublin 1, 3, 7 and 9 areas; (3) Deputies Dara Calleary and Denis Naughten - the need to sanction funding in respect of the ArtAssist pump in counties Galway, Mayo and Roscommon; (4) Deputy Derek Keating - the need to make provision for persons with a learning disability at St. John of God's, Islandbridge, Dublin particularly in view of the discharge of a person (details supplied); (5) Deputy Jonathan O'Brien - the implications arising from circular 0008/13, Budget 2012 – public service-wide review of allowances and premium payments, that was issued recently to teachers; (6) Deputy Michelle Mulherin - the need to direct EirGrid to implement smart grid technical solutions as a pilot project to stretch the network capacity and minimise constraints in north Mayo and to facilitate the number of wind and biomass electricity generating projects; (7) Deputy Simon Harris - the need to contact the President of the Maldives in view of plans there to physically punish a 15 year old rape victim for having sex outside of marriage; (8) Deputy Barry Cowen - the list of exempted developments from the property tax; (9) Deputy Tom Hayes - the need to outline the future of St. Patrick's Hospital, Cashel, County Tipperary; (10) Deputy Clare Daly - the criteria used to exempt unfinished estates from the local property tax; (11) Deputy Kevin Humphreys - the need to intervene with the ESB to ensure that guided tours and current opening hours continue at the Georgian Museum, "No. 29", Merrion Square, Dublin 2; (12) Deputy Thomas P. Broughan - the need to confirm whether evidence was withdrawn before the publication of the 2009 Coffey report into the Stardust tragedy; (13) Deputy Mick Wallace - the estates eligible for exemption from the local property tax; and (14) Deputy Richard Boyd Barrett - proposed exemptions to the property tax.

The matters raised by Deputies Dara Calleary and Denis Naughten; Tom Hayes; Paschal Donohoe; and Kevin Humphreys have been selected for discussion.
