Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 27A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív - the transfer of files for 1983 over to the National Archives; (2) Deputy Thomas P. Broughan - the Offshore Renewable Energy Development Plan; (3) Deputy Joe Higgins - the sale of Bord Gáis Energy; (4) Deputy Mick Wallace - the impact of the new building regulations to be introduced; (5) Deputy Martin Ferris - to discuss the judicial review decision regarding the Shannon LNG project; (6) Deputy Peadar Tóibín - the need to ensure that 50% of foreign investment into this state is located outside of Dublin and Cork; (7) Deputy Terence Flanagan - enhancing the Credit Union Movement in Ireland; (8) Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn - the revelations in the RTE "Prime Time" investigation into a charity (details supplied); (9) Deputy Michael Lowry - the difficulties facing parents of children with special needs in south Tipperary in securing school transport; (10) Deputy Anthony Lawlor - the need to establish two separate schools on the one campus in Maynooth, County Kildare; (11) Deputy James Bannon - the need to take special measures to tackle the unemployment crisis in Mullingar, County Westmeath; (12) Deputy Jerry Buttimer - the need for a response to and improved regulation arising from the "Prime Time" investigation into the exploitation of vulnerable drug addicts by certain charities and the role of courts in using these charities as an alternative sentencing option; (13) Deputy Ciara Conway - the need to fill vacancies in the speech and language therapy services to the rehabilitation centre St. Patrick's Hospital and Community Care in Waterford City; (14) Deputy Arthur Spring - Scoil Naomh Padraic Measc, Caherleaheen NS 16917T has been forced to close a prefab used for resource teaching due to its very poor condition; (15) Deputy Brendan Griffin - the need to guarantee the progression of the Shannon LNG project which would create 700 jobs with €1 billion investment in north Kerry; (16) Deputy Stephen S. Donnelly - the need for Eirgrid to engage with public representatives regarding the data and analysis they have conducted to date on constraints pertaining to the Gridlink project; (17) Deputy Clare Daly - the introduction of the new building control regulations; (18) Deputy Dan Neville - the establishment of a Rehabilitation Adult Mental Health Service; and (19) Deputy Robert Troy - the need for an updated rural broadband scheme.

The matters raised by Deputies James Bannon, Ciara Conway, Dan Neville and Robert Troy have been selected for discussion.
