Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 27A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Michael P. Kitt - the need for a postal system to alleviate the difficulties in obtaining driving licences; (2) Deputy Paudie Coffey - the need for 24-7 critical cardiac intervention services for the south east at Waterford Regional Hospital; (3) Deputies Dessie Ellis, Thomas P. Broughan and Seán Kenny - the need to provide funding for Darndale-Belcamp Childcare Service; (4) Deputy Patrick O'Donovan - the urgent need for changes to be introduced to the knowledge test for small public service vehicle licences to ensure applicants are tested on the areas they service as opposed to being tested on a whole county basis; (5) Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív - the urgent need for the Minister for Social Protection to ensure the continued provision of social welfare services in Ballinrobe, County Mayo, in view of the termination of the current contract for the provision of these services; (6) Deputy Finian McGrath - the 40th anniversary of the Dublin and Monaghan Bombings and the need to support the families and the announcement of a fund for the families; (7) Deputy Olivia Mitchell - the need for a new national spatial strategy; (8) Deputy Mattie McGrath - the urgent need to discuss the impact the UK road user's levy is having on employment levels for Irish road hauliers; (9) Deputy Joe Higgins - the way in which the free water allocation for under 18 year olds will be administered; (10) Deputy Michael McGrath - to ask the Minister for Finance to provide details of a planned new initiative designed to help first-time buyers to secure a mortgage, with the State guaranteeing a portion of the mortgage, and if he will make a statement on the matter; (11) Deputy Clare Daly - to discuss the impending industrial action at Aer Lingus over rosters; (12) Deputy Mick Wallace - to discuss the report by Sean Guerin SC; (13) Deputy Timmy Dooley - the need for the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to discuss the need to improve and upgrade cycle lanes in urban areas; (14) Deputy Billy Kelleher - the progress made in providing access to omalizumab, Xolair, for severe asthma, to patients in Cork University Hospital; (15) Deputy Seamus Kirk - the need for the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources to discuss the Government's position on nuclear energy; (16) Deputy Mary Mitchell O'Connor - the regulation of electronic cigarettes; and (17) Deputy Colm Keaveney - the need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the planned reconfiguration of maternity services in the west and north west

The matters raised by Deputies Michael P. Kitt; Mary Mitchell O'Connor; Joe Higgins; and Dessie Ellis, Thomas P. Broughan and Seán Kenny have been selected for discussion.
