Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 27A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Anthony Lawlor - the need to provide funding to progress the N7 upgrade, Osberstown interchange and Sallins bypass, to construction stage; (2) Deputy Martin Heydon - the need for funding to progress the N7 upgrade; (3) Deputy Lucinda Creighton - the need to intervene to ensure an equitable solution to the ongoing Irish aviation superannuation scheme dispute; (4) Deputy Michael McGrath - the loss of routes and reduction in services at Cork Airport; (5) Deputy Peadar Tóibín - the need to compel fuel companies in Ireland to pass on the reduction in international oil prices to the consumer and enterprise; (6) Deputy Eoghan Murphy - the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland's interpretation of the code of fairness, objectivity and impartiality in news and current affairs; (7) Deputies Derek Keating, Dessie Ellis, Richard Boyd Barrett, Joan Collins, Paul Murphy and Mick Wallace - homelessness in Ireland today; (8) Deputy Billy Timmins - the way in which funding for greenways was allocated in May 2014; (9) Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív - the proposals Teagasc has for the research station in Athenry, County Galway; (10) Deputy Jonathan O'Brien - the status of services at Cork Airport; (11) Deputy Seamus Kirk - the need to ensure the officially agreed terms and conditions for future fixed period promotions for the members of the ninth potential officer class are adhered to; (12) Deputy Michael Colreavy - the position on the appeal for the reopening of the case alleging torture by the British Government against the so-called "hooded men"; (13) Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin - the position on the appeal for the reopening of the case alleging torture by the British Government against the so-called "hooded men"; (14) Deputy Finian McGrath - the position on the appeal for the reopening of the case alleging torture by the British Government against the so-called "hooded men"; (15) Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn - the position on the appeal for the reopening of the case alleging torture by the British Government against the so-called "hooded men"; (16) Deputy Mattie McGrath - staffing levels in Tipperary County Council over the Christmas period; (17) Deputy Noel Harrington - the position on future sources for funding community development under the social inclusion and community activation programme for the non-Gaeltacht inhabited islands of Hare, Bere, Whiddy, Sherkin, Long, Dursey, Inisboffin, Inisturk, and Clare and whether funding will continue at the current level; (18) Deputy Michael McCarthy - the Skibbereen flood relief scheme; (19) Deputy Barry Cowen - media reports on the dismissal of expert advice in the allocation of funds for greenway projects; (20) Deputy Clare Daly - the imprisonment of the Irish citizen Ibrahim Halawa for over 450 days in Egypt; (21) Deputy Billy Kelleher - the loss of routes and reduction in services at Cork Airport; (22) Deputy Michael P. Kitt - the proposed greenway from Dublin to Galway, in particular the Ballinasloe to Galway section; (23) Deputy Eamonn Maloney - the restructuring and stabilisation of credit unions; (24) Deputy Seamus Healy - the need to ensure the continuation of the existing Medite of Europe defined benefit pension scheme with unaltered scheme conditions; (25) Deputy Dara Calleary - the concerns about standards of care at Aras Attracta, Swinford, County Mayo; (26) Deputy Colm Keaveney - the way in which the Health Service Executive recruits psychologists; (27) Deputy Robert Troy - the publication of the seventh report from the special rapporteur on child protection and the implementation of its recommendations; (28) Deputy Ruth Coppinger - the secondary school teachers' strike; and (29) Deputy Sean Fleming - the position on public health dentists being told to prioritise older over younger children.

The matters raised by Deputies Eoghan Murphy, Michael McCarthy, Derek Keating, Dessie Ellis, Richard Boyd Barrett, Joan Collins, Paul Murphy and Mick Wallace have been selected for discussion.
