Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 27A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Terence Flanagan - the need to introduce measures to reduce the burden of child care costs; (2) Deputy Anthony Lawlor - the appointment of valuations arbitrators and the resulting delays to the development of Naas town centre; (3) Deputy Michael McNamara - delays in obtaining UNESCO designation for sites here; (4) Deputy Brendan Griffin - the need for upgrading the N22, the Kerry to Cork road; (5) Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív - the cut in funding for the development companies on non-Gaeltacht islands for 2015; (6) Deputy Regina Doherty - the 1.5 to Stay Alive campaign cyclists are mounting and support planned for this initiative; (7) Deputy Lucinda Creighton - the future of the school completion programmes; (8) Deputy Seán Ó Fearghaíl - the need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the continued deterioration in hospital waiting lists, both for scheduled treatments and outpatient appointments; (9) Deputy Brian Stanley - hospice services in the midlands; (10) Deputy David Stanton - the need to develop marine tourism in Youghal, County Cork; (11) Deputy Thomas P. Broughan - the need to allocate funding to address the waiting list for disability extensions for citizens with a disability and high medical priority; (12) Deputy Gabrielle McFadden - the need to secure the future of services for those with neurological conditions under the scheme to support national organisations; (13) Deputy Noel Harrington - concerns regarding the introduction of the new penalty points scheme for fishermen; (14) Deputy Derek Keating - the shortage of second level school places in Dublin Mid-West; (15) Deputy Denis Naughten - plans for the future of the Rosalie Unit at Áras Naomh Chaoláin, Castlerea, County Roscommon; (16) Deputy Dan Neville - regulation of counselling and psychotherapy; (17) Deputy Billy Kelleher - the future of funding for organisations under the scheme to support national organisations; (18) Deputy Michael Moynihan - the latest ESRI research highlighting concerns on the level of competition in the electricity market here and increased prices for consumers; (19) Deputy Brendan Smith - the possible creation of a European army in light of the European Commission President's recent comments; (20) Deputy Áine Collins - the transition period for working lone parents with children over seven years of age and the impact on them of the reduction in their net income; (21) Deputy Helen McEntee - the need for a toll exemption on the M3 for Meath River Rescue; (22) Deputy Dessie Ellis - the effect of slowing private construction on the Government's housing strategy; and (23) Deputy Richard Boyd Barrett - the lack of availability of inpatient beds for children with mental health difficulties.

The matters raised by Deputies Michael McNamara, Brian Stanley, Regina Doherty and David Stanton have been selected for discussion.
