Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 27A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív - an gá fíor phráinneach go dtaraingneoidh an tAire Ealaion, Oidhreachta agus Gaeltactha an fógra ag lorg tairiscintí do sheirbhísí aeir go dtí na hOileáin Árann siar agus go gcuirfear fógra tairiscinte eile ina áit a chinnteoidh an leibhéal céanna seirbhíse agus atá ann faoi láthair; the pressing need for the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht to withdraw the notice seeking tenders for air services to the Aran Islands and the need to replace it with a new tender notice which ensures the retention of the current level of service; (2) Deputy Dan Neville - the ISPCC report entitled Children at Risk of Suicide; (3) Deputy Alan Farrell - proposals to route construction traffic through Donabate town centre for the construction of the national forensic mental hospital; (4) Deputies Regina Doherty and Peter Fitzpatrick - the need to engage with local councils regarding the re-evaluation of outstanding commercial rates due on the new rateable basis, including those in respect of local sports clubs; (5) Deputy Seamus Healy - the need to protect 160 jobs at risk at the Intellicom Contact Centre at Clonmel, County Tipperary; (6) Deputy Mattie McGrath - the need to protect 160 jobs are risk at the Intellicom Contact Centre at Clonmel, County Tipperary; (7) Deputy Brendan Griffin - the need to prevent future wild fires in Killarney National Park and Sliabh Mish in view of recent damage; (8) Deputy Thomas Pringle - the introduction of a recreational blue-fin tuna fishery here; (9) Deputy Martin Ferris - the burning of heather and wild fires in County Kerry; (10) Deputy Dessie Ellis - concerns expressed by taxi drivers regarding the decals required on the side of their vehicles; (11) Deputy Bernard J. Durkan - exceptional needs payments in respect of two families in County Kildare; (12) Deputy Anthony Lawlor - the appointment of valuations arbitrators and the resulting delays to the development of Naas town centre; (13) Deputy Seán Crowe - visa waiver for some undocumented Irish citizens in the United States; (14) Deputy Gerry Adams - visa waiver for some undocumented Irish citizens in the United States; (15) Deputy Colm Keaveney - possible threats to safe patient care due to staff shortages and rising demand for services; (16) Deputy Seán Ó Fearghaíl - concerns that patients on the waiting list for the national pancreas transplant programme are being disregarded; (17) Deputy Clare Daly - to discuss the escalating humanitarian crisis in the Mediterranean, with almost 1,000 dead in a week and the urgent need for the EU to address the problem; (18) Deputy Mick Wallace - to discuss the crisis in the Mediterranean with the loss of almost 1,000 people in a week and the urgent need for the EU to take action; and (19) Deputy Catherine Murphy - the revelation that the former CEO of Irish Bank Resolution Corporation was never asked to conduct a full independent review in relation to the Siteserv transaction, in which the State lost over €100 million, despite clear evidence from Department of Finance documents that the Minister for Finance was advised to make such a request.

The matters raised by Deputies Dessie Ellis; Regina Doherty and Peter Fitzpatrick; Bernard J. Durkan; and Seán Ó Fearghaíl have been selected for discussion.
