Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 27A and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy James Bannon - the need to accelerate broadband services to Lanesboro and the wider rural communities of County Longford; (2) Deputy Patrick O'Donovan - the need to establish a modern definition of public service broadcasting in the context of the distribution of the TV licence; (3) Deputy Seán Kyne - the need to develop a heart failure strategy here; (4) Deputy Noel Harrington - the need for funding to address flood damage caused in areas of west Cork in recent weeks; (5) Deputy Fergus O'Dowd - concerns regarding the discovery of sensitive personal documents outside Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, County Louth; (6) Deputy Catherine Byrne - the need to increase the scope of the Road Traffic Act to address the dangerous use of dirt bikes in communities; (7) Deputy Willie O'Dea - concerns about safe care at University Maternity Hospital, Limerick; (8) Deputy Billy Kelleher - the need to improve working conditions for home helps; (9) Deputy Dinny McGinley - the progress regarding a new school to replace St. Mary's National School, Stranorlar, County Donegal; (10) Deputy Robert Troy - the need to address the shortfall in funding for an extension to Drumlish national school, Longford; (11) Deputy Mick Wallace - the need to discuss permissions granted in 2014 for aircraft carrying military equipment to Saudi Arabia and the assurances given that this equipment was not used in Yemen; (12) Deputy Regina Doherty - the need to progress the site purchase for St. Peter's Church of Ireland National School, Dunboyne, County Meath; (13) Deputy John Halligan - the need to secure funding for capital projects in Waterford under the first phase of the ancient east initiative; (14) Deputy Colm Keaveney - the need to increase the number of personal assistant hours for persons with disabilities; (15) Deputy Clare Daly - the need to discuss permissions granted in 2014 for aircraft carrying military equipment to Saudi Arabia and the assurances given that this equipment was not used in Yemen; and (16) Deputy Michael Moynihan - the need to address observations of the Comptroller and Auditor General on the costs of introducing the Eircode system.

The matters raised by Deputies Catherine Byrne, John Halligan, Seán Kyne and Billy Kelleher have been selected for discussion.
