Ábhair Shaincheisteanna Tráthúla - Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 37 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Denis Naughten - to discuss the need to take decisive steps to improve mobile telephone coverage in rural areas for individuals, business and emergency services; (2) Deputy Michael Creed - to discuss extending the terms of the agreement with CE supervisors to Tús and rural social scheme supervisors; (3) Deputy Brian Stanley - to discuss with the Minister for Justice the lack of women’s refuge provision in Offaly; (4) Deputy Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire - to discuss the significant delay in getting the children’s disability network teams in Cork up and running, and the subsequent delays for children accessing assessments and therapies; (5) Deputies Holly Cairns and Christopher O'Sullivan - the need to reverse the decision to close the early intervention unit at Kilbrittain National School, County Cork, with the Minister for Education; (6) Deputy Brendan Griffin - the threat to Ireland’s energy security following the invasion of Ukraine; (7) Deputy David Stanton - to ask the Minister for Education to discuss the need to have Carrigtwohill and Midleton, County Cork, recognised as one education centre for the purposes of second level school transport; and if she will make a statement on the matter; (8) Deputy Joan Collins - to update the House on the proposed deal on the National Maternity Hospital announced two weeks ago and whether the Minister will be going to Cabinet with the proposal; (9) Deputy Jennifer Carroll MacNeill - to discuss the third national strategy on domestic, sexual and gender based violence, following the opening of public consultation recently; (10) Deputy Maurice Quinlivan - to ask the Minister for Health for an update on progress that has been made to address the overcrowding issues at numerous Irish hospitals and if he will make a statement on the matter; (11) Deputy Martin Browne - to discuss the services available for children with the eating disorder avoidant restrictive food intake disorder, ARFID, and when it will be included in DSM 5 criteria for eating disorders; (12) Deputy Kieran O'Donnell - to ask the Minister for Transport for an update on the plans to facilitate the transfer of King Johns Castle to Limerick City and County Council from the Shannon Group; and (13) Deputies Johnny Guirke, Darren O'Rourke, Mark Ward and Ruairí Ó Murchú - to discuss why the day hospital in Navan is not open for mental health services.

The matters raised by Deputy Brendan Griffin, Deputy Michael Creed, Deputies Holly Cairns and Christopher O'Sullivan and Deputies Johnny Guirke, Darren O'Rourke, Ruairí Ó Murchú and Mark Ward have been selected for discussion.
