Ábhair Shaincheisteanna Tráthúla - Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 37 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputies Mattie McGrath and Michael Collins - a debate to discuss the efforts the Government is making to highlight the persecution of Christian and other minority groups worldwide; (2) Deputy Matt Shanahan - the continuing lethargy in delivering a promised expansion of hours to the cardiology suite at University Hospital Waterford, along with the lack of any engagement on a recent National Office of Clinical Audit report into heart attacks, which demonstrated that less than 5% of heart attack patients get transferred to a cardiac care centre from any south-east hospital within the clinical required time frame when the Waterford cath lab is closed, which it is 129 hours of every week; (3) Deputy Louise O'Reilly - to discuss the need to include Skerries and Balbriggan in the 90-minute €2 Leap fare; (4) Deputy Darren O'Rourke - to discuss with the Minister with responsibility for sport the urgent need to secure playing pitches for Stamullen FC, Stamullen, County Meath; (5) Deputy Niamh Smyth - the need to urgently address North East Doctor on Call, NEDOC, and GP shortages in Cavan and Monaghan; (6) Deputy Dessie Ellis - to discuss concerns raised regarding the proposals by the national car test centre in Ballymun to replace existing highly skilled staff; and (7) Deputy Mick Barry - the need for reforms of sentencing guidelines and legislation in light of the jailing of a young woman in Waterford following the death of her newborn.

The matters raised by Deputies Mattie McGrath and Michael Collins, Niamh Smyth, O'Reilly and O'Rourke have been selected for discussion.
