Scrutiny of EU Legislative Proposals

I thank members and witnesses for participating in today's committee meeting in line with the exceptional circumstances we have to deal with under Covid-19. I remind them that unlike me and members of the committee secretariat, all other members and witnesses are required to participate remotely and from within the Leinster House complex only. Apologies have been received from Deputy David Stanton.

The first item on the agenda is EU proposals. A number of EU proposals have been received by the committee for consideration under Schedule B: COM (2020) 70 - employment guidelines; COM (2020) 65 - artificial intelligence; COM (2020) 253 - foreign subsidies; COM (2020) 569 - high performance computing joint undertaking; COM (2020) 708 - tariff quotas for certain agricultural and industrial products; COM (2020) 729 - export restrictions for certain foodstuffs; and COM (2020) 737 - tariff duties on certain agricultural and industrial products. The committee has already considered these. It is proposed that the committee confirm its decision that the proposals do not warrant further scrutiny. May I get the committee's agreement on that? We are all agreed.
