Business of Joint Committee

The proceedings of Oireachtas committees will be conducted without the requirement for social distancing and with normal capacity in the committee rooms restored. However, committee members and committees are encouraged to take a gradual approach to this change. Members and witnesses have the option of attending meetings in the relevant committee room or online through MS Teams. All those attending in the committee rooms and environs should continue to wear masks covering the mouth and nose throughout the meeting, and these may only be removed when addressing the committee. Attendees should also continue to sanitise and wash their hands properly and often and to avail of a sanitiser outside and inside the committee rooms, as well as being respectful of people's physical space and practising good respiratory etiquette. Members and all in attendance are asked to exercise personal responsibility to protect themselves and others from the risk of contacting Covid-19.

Members are required to participate in the meeting, if they are doing it remotely, from within the Leinster House complex only. We have not received any apologies.

The report on the pre-legislative scrutiny of the sick pay Bill, which was carried out extensively by this committee, has been finalised and there will be a brief announcement of the launch of the report on the Plinth after this meeting finishes. It will take place at 12.30 p.m. Any member who is available is invited to attend the launch. The report will also be circulated electronically to members. They should have received it already. I thank members for their collaborative work in finalising the report. It was good to see the cross-party support and work people put into it.
