I wish to address a matter. Last week a report commissioned by the Department of the Environment and Local Government on electronic voting identified serious concerns about the security of the current system. To date it has not been published. I request that we invite the authors of the report to attend the joint committee at an early date to outline their findings. I also ask that we raise the matter with the Minister when he comes before us.

We will try to ensure they come before us a few weeks before the election.
I am more concerned that they appear before the Minister spends the €35 million on further equipment.
We will contact the authors and try to arrange an appropriate date for a meeting. I wish our officials and members of the joint committee a very happy Christmas. I thank them for their contributions and look forward to working with them in the year ahead.
