JOINT COMMITTEE ON ENVIRONMENT AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT debate -
Wednesday, 1 Feb 2006

Business of Joint Committee.

Our first item of business is our annual report for 2005 and our work programme for 2006. Under Standing Orders, the committee is obliged to provide an annual report and work programme and at our previous three meetings I invited submissions from members for inclusion in the new work programme. The draft work programme, as referred to at those meetings, has been incorporated into the draft annual report for 2005 and was circulated to members prior to this meeting. If there are no further comments or suggestions for inclusion in either the work programme or the annual report, I suggest that the joint committee agree the work programme for 2006 and the annual report for 2005. Is that agreed? Agreed.

The joint committee, therefore, agrees that the draft work programme be adopted as the work programme of the joint committee for 2006 and that the draft annual report be adopted as the annual report of the joint committee for 2005. In accordance with Standing Orders, the work programme and the annual report will be laid before both Houses.
