Messages to Dáil and Seanad

In accordance with Standing Order 87 the following message will be sent to the Dáil:

The Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Women's Rights has completed its consideration of the following motions:

i) a proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on combating the sexual abuse, sexual exploitation of children and child pornography, repealing Framework Decision 2004/68/JHA.

ii) That Dáil Éireann resolve that section 8 of the Criminal Justice (Amendment) Act 2009 (No. 32 of 2009) shall continue in operation for the period beginning on 23 July 2010 and ending on 30 June 2011.

iii) That Dáil Éireann approve the following order in draft:

Post-Release (Restrictions on Certain Activities) Orders Scheme 2010.

In accordance with Standing Order 72 the following message will be sent to the Seanad:

The Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Women's Rights has completed its consideration of the following motions:

ii) That Seanad Éireann resolve that section 8 of the Criminal Justice (Amendment) Act 2009 (No. 32 of 2009) shall continue in operation for the period beginning on 23 July 2010 and ending on 30 June 2011.

iii) That Seanad Éireann approve the following order in draft:

Post-Release (Restrictions on Certain Activities) Orders Scheme 2010.

The joint committee went into private session at 11.05 a.m. and adjourned at 11.10 a.m. until 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 7 July 2010.
