Messages to Dáil and Seanad

In accordance with Standing Order 87, the following message will be sent to the Dáil:

The Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Women's Rights has completed its consideration of the following motion:

That Dáil Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option or discretion under Protocol No. 21 on the position of the United Kingdom and Ireland in respect of the area of freedom, security and justice annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, to accept the following measure:

the Agreement between the European Union and the United States of America on the processing and transfer of Financial Messaging Data from the European Union to the United States for the purposes of the Terrorist Finance Tracking Programme,

a copy of which was laid before Dáil Éireann on 26th July, 2010.

In accordance with Standing Order 72 the following message will be sent to the Seanad:

The Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Women's Rights has completed its consideration of the following motion:

That Seanad Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option or discretion under Protocol No. 21 on the position of the United Kingdom and Ireland in respect of the area of freedom, security and justice annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, to accept the following measure:

The joint committee went into private session at 2.25 p.m. and adjourned at 2.30 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, 24 November 2010.
