SECTION 27

Question proposed: "That section 27 stand part of the Bill."

This section re-enacts the existing law in modern form. It empowers the bankruptcy inspector — at present called the court messenger — or any of his assistants, acting under warrant of the court to seize any of the bankrupt's property. For that purpose he is authorised to enter and if necessary break open any house, building, room or other place belonging to the bankrupt where any of his property is believed to be. This is in accordance with the committee's recommendation.

Question put and agreed to.
