Joint Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement debate -
Thursday, 18 May 2017

Business of Joint Committee

Apologies have been received from Deputies Maureen O'Sullivan, Brendan Smith and Sean Sherlock and Senator Mark Daly. As I said at the last meeting, we do not have Northern Ireland MPs present because the Westminster Parliament has been dissolved. We will not have any Northern Ireland members until 8 June.

Today, we will hear from Mr. Mark Bassett, barrister-at-law, and Professor Colin Harvey, Queen's University of Belfast. They will discuss voting rights in Northern Ireland.

I propose that we go into private session to deal with housekeeping matters. Is that agreed? Agreed.

The joint committee went into private session at 3.05 p.m. and resumed in public session at 3.25 p.m.
