Mr. Chairman and Senators, before the business of this afternoon commences I should respectfully like to suggest that the correspondents of the Press withdraw for a quarter of an hour or twenty minutes in order that we may have a little private discussion in relation to the names of candidates who are to be submitted for the Chair.
