SEANAD RESUMES. - [THE ADJOURNMENT.]

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

I am quite sure that Mr. Douglas, in view of what is being said, will come fully armed with statistics to meet that point. By consent, further consideration of this matter stands adjourned until the first meeting of the Seanad after the Easter Recess. I wish to say, for the information of the Seanad, that to-morrow's Paper will include, as First Order, the consideration in Committee of the Electoral Bill. I propose also to place among the Orders of the Day the further stages of the Bill we considered in Committee to-day, not necessarily to ask the House to take it up, but to have it on the Paper, so that it may be taken up if there is time. The members of the Seanad will understand that the Orders of the Day intended for to-morrow have been already put in print, because it would be impossible to send them out to reach Senators in time for to-morrow's sitting if they were not already printed, so that what I said now about the further Stages of the Local Government Bill will not appear on the Paper you will get. What I want the Seanad to understand is that it should be prepared to go on with the further Stage of that Bill if there is the opportunity to do so.

The Seanad adjourned at 6.10 p.m.
