TUARASGABHAIL ON gCOISTE SPESIALTA AR BHUAN-CHOISTIBH.

(Report of Special Committee on Standing Committees.)

Do ceapadh an Coiste seo do réir an rúin seo leanas, do cuireadh i bhfeidhm ag an Seanad ar an 10º mí Eanair, 1923:—

This Committee was appointed by a resolution of the Seanad, adopted on the 10th January, 1923, in the following terms:—

(a) “Coiste do ceapa chun an cheist sin do léirmheas .i. ar bh'fearrde Buan- choistí do chur ar bun ag an Seanad dóibh féin, nú agan Seanad is ag an Dáil araon, agus chun tuarasgabháil do chur chun an tSeanaid ag cur síos ar fheidhm ar thogha agus ar obair éan-Bhuan-choisti dá molaidís.

(a) “That a Committee be appointed to consider and report on the ad- visability of establishing Standing Committees, appointed either by the Seanad alone or jointly by the Seanad and the Dáil, and suggest to the Seanad the purpose, method of appointment, and duties of any Committees that may be recommended.

(b) “Na Seanadaigh seo do bheith ar an gCoiste sin:— Barún Lann Abhaigh, Séamas Dubhglas, Aindrias Mac Séamais Riocard de Buitléir, Séamas Mac Peáircín, Muiris Ó Mórdha, Séamas Dubhdal, Sir Brian Ó Macháin, Sir Seán Ó Catháin, Siobhán Bean an Phaoraigh, Liam Yeats, Tomás Ó Fearáin, Eamonn Mac Giollaiasachta, Séamas Ó Móráin; cúigear mar líonchomhairle.”

(b) “That the Committee appointed be composed as follows:— Lord Glenavy, James G. Douglas, Andrew Jameson, Richard A. Butler, James J. Parkinson, Colonel Moore J.C. Dowdall, Sir Bryan Mahon, Sir John Keane, Mrs. Wyse Power, W. B. Yeats, Thomas Farren, E. MacLysaght; James Moran; five members to form a quorum.”

Do réir an rúin seo do tháinig an Coiste le chéile ar an 15º Márta, 1923, agus do bhí i láthair:—Barún Lann Abhaigh (i gCeannus), Séamas Dubhglas, Muiris Ó Mórdha, Sir Seán Ó Catháin, Siobhán Bean an Phaoraigh, Liam Yeats, Éamonn Mac Giollaiasachta agus Séamas Ó Móráin.

Pursuant to this resolution the Com- mittee met on the 15th March, 1923, the following members being present: Lord Glenavy (in the Chair), James G. Douglas, Colonel Moore, Sir John Keane, Mrs. Wyse Power, W.B. Yeats, Edward MacLysaght and James Moran.

It was decided to make the following recommendation to the Seanad:—

It is recommended that there be appointed each Session a small Standing Committee whose duty it will be to nominate the personnel of any future Committees that may be set up, in the absence of any express directions from the Seanad itself as regards the constitution of a particular Committee; the Leas-Chathaoirleach to beex-officio Chairman of such Standing Committee, and each such Committee to appoint its own Chairman.
