Vol. 1 No. 19

SUMMER TIME BILL.

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

The resumption of the Committee stage of the Damage to Property (Compensation) Bill is the first order on the Paper, but, as I do not see any Minister yet in attendance, perhaps while we are waiting we might put through the Summer Time Bill, which has been sent to us from the Dáil. Probably the Seanad would be satisfied to put it through all its Stages.

Not at all; I object.

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

My only interest is not to keep us here doing nothing. The Summer Time Bill seems to be the only other available business we have.

I do not propose to move that this Bill be taken through all its Stages, because I am not quite sure that the Seanad are satisfied to do that, but I think I might move the Second Reading. There are some members of the Seanad, I understand, who wish to oppose the Bill. Therefore, I think it would be better to move that it be read a Second Time.

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

As the Minister is here now it would be better to go through the business in the order on the Paper.

Yes, as the Minister has arrived, perhaps it is better.
