Vol. 1 No. 22

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY (COMPENSATION) BILL, 1923—(RESUMED)

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

Have you had any communication, Senator Jameson, from the Minister for Finance with regard to your amendment?

Yes. The amendment of the Government in Section 13 should come in in sub-section 7. What I move—and this is really a Government method of dealing with the matter— should undoubtedly come into sub-section 7, which reads: "The Minister for Finance may, for the purpose of the foregoing sub-section, by Order, create such securities bearing such rate of interest," etc. The proposal is to insert between the words "securities" and "bearing" in line 6 the words "capable of registration," so that it will then read "create such securities capable of registration bearing such rate of interest," etc.

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

The motion is that leave be given to insert in Section 13, sub-section 7, in the second line, after the word "securities," the words "capable of registration."

Amendment put and agreed to.
