Seanad Éireann debate -
Friday, 7 Mar 1924

Vol. 2 No. 21

ORDER OF BUSINESS.

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

I assume that the Seanad agrees with my suggestion, and that it stands adjourned until 3 o'clock next Wednesday.

Would you tell the House what the other Bills are?

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

Yes. There is the Collection of Rates Bill, a Bill making temporary provision for dealing with fire-arms, and the Ministers' and Secretaries' Bill. This last Bill is a Bill of importance, and I would recommend Senators, if they have amendments, to consider them, because if we take the Second Stage on Wednesday, we might take the Committee Stage on Thursday.

There are some Sections of the Courts of Justice Bill left over.

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

There is an important constitutional question left over on which a Committee was appointed. I doubt very much if the Committee will have dealt with it by next week.

When will the Fisheries Bill be taken?

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

I would suggest Wednesday.

Will it be taken first?

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

I think it ought to be. The question of agreeing or disagreeing with those two Bills will be the first matters on the agenda paper for Wednesday.

The Seanad adjourned at 2.30 p.m. until 3 o'clock on Wednesday, March 12th.
