Vol. 3 No. 19

DUN LAOGHAIRE, BLACKROCK, DALKEY CORPORATION BILL, 1924.—SECOND STAGE.

I beg to move:—

That in view of the fact that the Commission on Local Administration in Dublin City and County has not finished its investigations the Second Reading of the Dun Laoghaire Blackrock Dalkey Corporation Bill, 1924, be further postponed until Wednesday, 18th February, 1925, or, if the Seanad be not sitting on that day, the next day thereafter on which the Seanad shall so sit.

I perhaps ought to briefly explain that it is considered—and I think quite rightly considered by the promoters— that in view of the Commission on the whole question of the Dublin City boundary, etc., it would be foolish to go on with this Bill. Under the Private Bill Standing Orders the date at which the Second Stage must be taken is fixed, and therefore if, with the leave of the House the Second Stage were not formally brought before us and this resolution passed, the Bill would lapse, which would be equally unfair and undesirable.

I second.

Motion put and agreed to.
