Vol. 3 No. 26

RAILWAYS (DIRECTORATE) BILL, 1924. (SECOND STAGE.)

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

The motion is that this Bill be now read a Second Time.

Could we not have the attendance of a Minister? This is a Bill in which technical knowledge is necessary and we would want some explanation of it, and it would be hardly proper for the Seanad to go on with the Bill until the Minister is here to explain it.

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

Senator, I cannot issue a warrant for him, but I will send across, and find out and tell him this Bill is on, and say that if he would attend, the Seanad would be glad.

The Minister certainly intended to be here. I quite agree with Senator O'Farrell.
