PRIVATE BUSINESS. - DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT & PUBLIC HEALTH PROVISIONAL ORDER CONFIRMATION NO. 1 BILL, 1925.—FIRST STAGE.

Under the Standing Orders relative to private business, this Bill is initiated in the Seanad. It is treated as a Private Bill in most respects, but if no petitions against the Provisional Order proposed to be confirmed by the Bill are deposited before the Second Stage the Bill is referred, on the Second Stage being passed, to a Committee of the whole House in the same manner as a Public Bill. The object of the Bill is to confirm a Provisional Order made by the Minister for Local Government and Public Health to enable the council of the urban district of Thurles, being the burial board of the district, to purchase and take lands for the purpose of providing a burial ground in their district. It is provided, as you know, in the Standing Orders relative to private business, that the Leas-Chathaoirleach should move the stages of a Bill of this character, and accordingly I beg leave to introduce this Bill.

Question:—"That leave be given to introduce the Bill"—put and agreed to.
