PUBLIC BUSINESS. - DEFENCE FORCES (TEMPORARY PROVISIONS) BILL, 1925—COMMITTEE.

Bill passed through Committee without amendment and ordered to be reported.

I move:—"That the Standing Orders be suspended for the purpose of enabling the remaining stages of the Defence Forces (Temporary Provisions) Bill, 1925, to be taken to-day."

Bill reported, received for final consideration, and passed.

I move:—

"That this House hereby declares that the Bill passed by this House and entitled ‘An Act to continue and amend the Defence Forces (Temporary Provisions) Acts, 1923 and 1924,' and whereof the short title is the ‘Defence Forces (Temporary Provisions) Bill, 1925,' is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace."

I second the motion.
