Vol. 4 No. 18

COUNTY BOARDS OF HEALTH ACCOUNTS ORDER, 1924. - MOTION BY SIR JOHN KEANE (RESUMED).

"That the Seanad wishes to call the attention of the Executive Council to the alteration of certain Forms contained in the Schedule of the County Boards of Health Accounts Order, 1924, laid on the Table of this House on the 20th March, 1924, in pursuance of Section 20 (4) of the Local Government (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1923, and to the fact that copyright has been granted to a private firm in respect of such altered Forms; and that the Seanad further expresses the hope that steps will be taken to prevent the recurrence of such irregularities."

AN CATHAOIRLEACH

With regard to the motion standing on the Order Paper in the name of Senator Sir John Keane, I had an intimation from the Minister for Local Government and Public Health that he would have been here at 3,30. He is probably engaged elsewhere, but I understand from him that he intended to make an appeal to Senator Sir John Keane and to the Seanad to allow the motion to stand over for a later date, because he says there is a good deal of detail to be considered in connection with it, and he is not yet quite conversant with the facts. He says that he would like to be in a position to deal with the matter fully when the occasion arises. I told the Minister that Senator Sir John Keane and the Seanad were exceedingly likely to accede to his request in the matter.

I am quite satisfied to have the motion further postponed.

Sitting suspended, and resumed at 4.30 p.m.
