Vol. 7 No. 13

SHOP HOURS (DRAPERY TRADES, DUBLIN AND DISTRICTS) BILL. 1926.

CATHAOIRLEACH

With regard to the Conference proposed by this House with the other House in reference to the question of our amendment to which the Dáil disagreed in regard to the Shop Hours Bill, the Dáil has agreed to a conference and has nominated the following Deputies to represent it:—Deputies P.S. Doyle, T. Hennessy, O'Connor, Johnson and Norton. Under the Standing Orders the duty of arranging the time and place of conference is cast upon me. Yesterday I endeavoured to ascertain as best I could the time and place most suitable, both to the Senators and Deputies, with the result that I fixed to-day at 3.30 p.m. in Committee Room No. 2. The Deputies of the Dáil have received notice to that effect, and the Senators representing this House received similar notice, with the exception, I think of Senator MacGuinness, with whom the Clerk was not able to get in touch.

I was told that it would be at eight-thirty this evening. How can I be in two places at the same time?

CATHAOIRLEACH

That happened before. I think some Senators are quite able for that.
