Vol. 8 No. 30

JURIES BILL, 1927—MESSAGE FROM THE DAIL.

CATHAOIRLEACH

The following Message has been received from the Dáil in connection with this Bill:—

Dáil Eireann agrees to amendments Nos. 1 to 12 made by Seanad Eireann to the Juries Bill, 1927; it agrees to amendment No. 13 as amended by the deletion of the words "unless paid out of public funds" in Part II.; to which the agreement of Seanad Eireann is desired.

The particular matter to which it refers is where the Dáil has made an addition in the amendments sent down from this House.

It is to be found in Part 2 of the Schedule, after the words "Persons actually employed as professors, schoolmasters or teachers in any university, college, school or academy, unless paid out of public funds." The amendment made by the Dáil was to delete the words "unless paid out of public funds." The question is: Does this House agree to the change?

I move that the Seanad agree with the Dáil in the said amendment.

Question put and agreed to.
