Vol. 10 No. 1

APPOINTMENT OF DEPUTY CHAIRMEN.

CATHAOIRLEACH

I might mention that in August last Senators Counihan and Dowdall were appointed under Standing Order No. 3 to form a panel of Chairmen, who would be prepared, if called upon, to act in the event of the unavoidable absence of the Cathaoirleach or Leas-Chathaoirleach. In view of the short tenure of office that these two Senators enjoyed, perhaps the House might be prepared to renew their appointment.

I move that Senators John C. Counihan and J.C. Dowdall be appointed to form a panel of Chairmen pursuant to Standing Order No. 3.

Question put and agreed to.
