Vol. 12 No. 12

Seanad Vacancy.

Cathaoirleach

It is necessary for us now, under our Standing Orders, to fix a date for the holding of an election to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mrs. Stopford Green. That date must not be less than one fortnight from to-day. I suggest to the House that it should fix Wednesday, 19th June, which is a fortnight from to-day, for the filling of the vacancy. Nominations for the filling of the vacancy will close at 5 p.m. on this day week. Is the House agreed on that?

Agreed.
