Vol. 13 No. 10

Committee on Procedure.

Cathaoirleach

The first business of the House is the appointment of a Committee on Procedure, pursuant to Standing Order 111. For the information of Senators it might be well if I mentioned that last year's Committee was composed of the Cathaoirleach and the Leas-Cathaoirleach ex officio, Senators Brown, Douglas, Farren, Linehan. Moore, O'Doherty and Mrs. Wyse-Power. It might be well, perhaps, if the House were to re-appoint the existing Committee.

I propose that the existing Committee be re-appointed.

Question put and agreed to.

Cathaoirleach

With regard to the appointment of this Committee, I wish to say that for some time past the Clerk and myself have been engaged preparing new Standing Orders. They are practically ready for revision. It will be necessary for the Committee on Procedure to consider them. Members of the Committee can obtain copies of the proposed new Standing Orders from the Clerk, and I hope it will be possible for the Committee to meet at an early date to consider them.
