Vol. 14 No. 27

Public Business. - Dairy Produce Bill, 1931—Second Stage.

Question proposed: That the Bill be read a Second Time.

This is a short and simple Bill, which deals with two points. It provides that records of butter in cold storage shall be kept and may be published by the Minister. Section 10 provides that licences to collect cream instead of milk shall be still legal. There was power under the old Dairy Produce Act to collect cream instead of milk, but that power expired on 17th December, 1930. This section provides that the Minister may still make regulations allowing cream instead of milk to be collected up to 31st March, 1933. These are the only two points with which the Bill deals.

Question put and agreed to.
Second Stage concluded.
Committee Stage fixed for Wednesday, 15th July, 1931.
