Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 3 Dec 1931

Vol. 14 No. 41

Statement by Cathaoirleach.

Cathaoirleach

The current triennial period ends on Saturday next, and with it my period of office as Cathaoirleach. It is unnecessary for us now to adjourn to a particular day, as under the Standing Orders the duty devolves on the Clerk of summoning a meeting of the House for the first Wednesday occurring at the beginning of the next triennial period.

For the uniform forbearance, kindness and courtesy shown to me by members of all parties during the period of three years in which I have had the honour of presiding over your deliberations, I wish to thank you one and all, and in particular those (whoever they may be) who, through the hazard of the ballot-box, may not be with us when we meet again.

The Seanad adjourned at 6.30 p.m.
