Vol. 15 No. 1

Town Tenants Bill, 1930—Fifth Stage.

Question proposed: "That the Bill do now pass."

I do not propose to go into any details on the Final Stage of this Bill. I rise merely to oppose the passing of the Bill. The Bill, to my mind, has been a great disappointment to all those who were counting on something in the way of legislation to solve this problem relating to town tenants. Certain amendments were introduced on the Committee and Report Stages. The Bill as it leaves this House is not in any sense a good measure and goes no way to solve the problem of town tenants. I propose to vote against the Bill.

Question put and declared carried.
