Vol. 15 No. 1

Notice to Senators.

Cathaoirleach

The following notice was sent to all Senators by the Clerk last Saturday:—

"There are so many items on the Order Paper for next Wednesday, a draft copy of which is enclosed herewith, that it will probably be desirable for the House to take a decision regarding the order in which the respective items will be taken. The usual practice is for the Cathaoirleach to consult with the Government in such matters, and, since the period of office of the Cathaoirleach expires to-day, I have thought it right to take this action in the circumstances. It would be agreeable to the Government if, after items 1, 2 and 3 (which are governed by Standing Orders) have been disposed of, the remaining items were taken in the following order: 14, 10, 13, 12, 4, 5, 11, followed by the remaining items in the order in which they appear. I suggest that the House should take the business in the order outlined in that notice.

Agreed.
