Vol. 16 No. 20

Private Business. - Road Traffic Bill, 1933—Committee Stage.

Cathaoirleach

This Bill was arranged to be taken to-day to facilitate business but the Minister in charge is not here to take it up. We have, therefore, no course open to us but to adjourn it for the present. I have no comment to make on the matter but I have to inform the House that that is the position. If the House wishes, we will adjourn it sine die until we know when the Minister will be here to take charge of it.

We cannot go on with it, presumably?

Cathaoirleach

Not until the Minister is here.

What is the procedure, then?

Cathaoirleach

We can adjourn it for any time we like, such as to-morrow or next Wednesday. I would suggest that we adjourn it until next Wednesday.

Question—"That the Road Traffic Bill, 1933, be adjourned until Wednesday, 31st May."—put and agreed to.
